Let's redefine beauty

Cherlyn, the 31-year-old founder and creator of Cherlyn Skincare, wants to change the way that women think about beauty. She hopes that her personal journey, which has produced a successful business, new 100% natural skin care products, and inspirational cards, will encourage other women to discover their true beauty, not one defined by media and advertisers.

Here's her story:

“I struggled with acne for more than half my life. I suffered from low self-esteem and constantly put myself down for how I looked. I never felt pretty enough or good enough. I wasted my twenties hiding in a corner, whether at school, work, or at social events. In the process, I pushed people away. Many years of seeing doctors, dermatologists, and estheticians and trying countless products only made my sensitive, acne-prone skin worse.

“One day, I woke up and realized that I had to make a change both inside and out: I needed to nourish my skin with products that would provide the nutrients I was lacking, and nourish my mind with a positive outlook that would melt my feelings of self-doubt. I needed to believe that I was beautiful — exactly the way I was.

“I also realized that just because I had acne-prone skin, I didn’t need to damage it with harsh chemical acne-treatments. That’s why my product line isn’t necessarily for just acne-prone skin. It’s gentle and nourishing for all skin types. I wanted to create something that took care of skin, rather than stripped it away and dried it out.”

Cherlyn learned to accept herself and adopt a new vision of beauty, one that honours her authentic self. Through her years of researching how to help her skin be the best it could be, she realized that she had found her calling. She wanted to help women, of all skin types, who felt the same way she did. She wanted to encourage them to value both their inner and outer beauty.

"It is not only what we put on our skin," says Cherlyn, "it is also how we take care of ourselves. Do we treat ourselves with love and respect, or do we constantly beat ourselves up because we don't match someone else's idea of beauty?"

For Cherlyn, the answer to controlling her breakouts wasn't just about what she put on her skin. It was also about eating well, nourishing her mind and heart with positive thoughts and affirmations, and believing in the natural beauty that was within her all along.

Cherlyn Skincare was born

Starting in her home office of Vancouver, BC, Canada, Cherlyn began working with a team of scientists, who have been formulating for the most prestigious international natural cosmetic brands, to develop a 100% natural, highest-quality product line.

Finally, after a year of researching and experimenting, she launched Cherlyn Skin Care.

Cherlyn’s labour of love has resulted in the first Cherlyn Skincare product line, uniquely formulated using the Cherlyn Blend. It combines highly effective and natural, body-friendly ingredients in a way that leaves you feeling radiant and refreshed, looking like the confident, beautiful woman that you are.
